  86. package and its features, along with instructions for its installation.
  87. Quite detailed documentation is included in the package, but it is in
  88. archived form, and is more easily read after installation.

  90. Vehicle Costs is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes
  91. all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.  You may
  92. use it for up to 90 days, without charge (see licence.TXT for more
  93. details).  If you like the program, and wish to continue its use after
  94. this evaluation period, you are required to pay for the program (see
  95. REGISTER.TXT for more details).  Any fee you may have paid to others

  138. The file VEHI24.EXE on this disc is a self extracting archived file.
  139.  
  140. To extract the programs contained within it copy it to another floppy
  141. disc, or create a directory on your hard drive and copy it to that. Move
  142. to that directory or drive and type VEHI24 then press enter. The files
  143. will extract to that directory/disc.
  144.  
  145.  I suggest the following steps if copying to a hard drive under DOS.
  146.  These instructions assume that your hard drive is c: and the program
  147.  disc is in A: . Only type the letters shown in capitals.
  148.  
  149. At the c:> prompt type
  150.            MD C:\VEHICLE [press enter]
  151.            CD C:\VEHICLE  [press enter]
  152.            COPY A:\VEHI24.EXE C:\VEHICLE\*.*  [press enter]

  155. You may substitute any name for the directory "VEHICLE".

  157. A number of files should now reside in the VEHICLE directory.
  158. Vehicle.txt is a text file which will step you through the program. To
  159. view this on screen make sure that VEHICLE is the active directory then
  160. type :-
  161.  TYPE VEHICLE.TXT | MORE [press enter] Note the | character
  162. between txt and more is the pipe symbol which appears on your keyboard
  163. as an elongated colon(:)

  165. This will display the file one screen at a time, just press a key each
  166. time to continue. You will require a printed copy of the instructions to
  167. try out the program. Assuming you have a printer connected (and it's
  168. turned on) and VEHICLE is the active directory, at the DOS prompt type:-

  172. You may be asked the question "NAME OF LIST DEVICE [PRN]".

  177. This file was written for the program in US format. i.e. miles per
  178. gallon and a date format of MM\DD\YYYY if the version you have shows
  179. kilometeres per litre then the date format  will be DD\MM\YYYY

  181.  A number of document files may be included (i.e. vendor.doc) for vendor
  182.  information. these may be deleted from your working directory without
  183.  causing any problems in regard to the program operation. However if you
  184.  distribute the program in any way it must be in the original form.
